Description
{1} Archaeological observation and recording was carried out during the preparation of foundations for a new house at Stoke Park, Stoke Bruerne. As the new structure was to be built in an area of potential archaeological sensitivity, the purpose of the exercise was to ensure that the archaeological interest of the site was safeguarded. The investigation revealed a medieval ditch offset from an ancient lane, probably representing a tenement boundary, providing corroborotive evidence for the suspected deserted medieval village or hemlet of Shaw.
