Description

{1} Archaeological observation was carried out prior to the application for the construction of an Anaerobic digester. The works identified and just caught the edge of an old track post-medieval track just to the northwest of the area running from the southwest to the northeast; just clipping the northwest corner of the observation area. Five medieval cultivation furrows running roughly northeast-southwest across the area were also encountered which corresponded directly with the findings of the Northamptonshire Archaeological Unit in 2013. At the extreme northwest end of the area a single iron age ditch was seen to run roughly east-west through the area. Iron Age pottery and a fragment of a possible iron knife blade were associated with this feature and a general spread of medieval pottery was recovered from the site in general. No other Archaeological finds or features were encountered.
