Full Description

{1} Archaeological observation undertaken in 2014 identified an Iron Age ditch which traversed the width of the site. Crop marks in the area do indicate settlement but are as yet undated. This could throw some light on these and suggest that at least some may be of Iron Age provenance. This single ditch alone would seem to be just a boundary ditch of some description but does contain a fill with slightly abraded pottery. Settlement associated with this ditch must be in close proximity.
