Description

Twenty-five trenches were excavated across three fields. Archaeology was found in five trenches, all of which were situated in the south-western corner of the site. It was typically medieval in character, comprising pits, post-holes, ditches and the stone footings of a building close to the Station Road frontage; the pottery dated up the early 14th century. A few sherds of St Neots and Stamford ware also indicates a Saxo-Norman presence.
