Description

{1} Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook a geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering approximately 33 hectares near Cosgrove, Northamptonshire in advance of a proposed development. Despite the site being located in a landscape of high archaeological potential only a single anomaly of probable archaeological origin has been identified by the survey; a barrow type feature which clearly corresponds with a circular cropmark. Numerous other cropmarks have not been identified as magnetic anomalies. The reason for this is not clear.
