The remaining three trenches, two of which were 50mx1.8m and the third 25mx1.8m, were excavated across land immediately south of the A510 (in Areas 4 and 5). Within the corridor of the proposed access road. Twelve trenches contained archaeological remains including a Roman road and evidence of medieval ridge and furrow.
