Description

{1} A geophysical (magnetometer) survey, covering approximately 6.5 hectares, was undertaken within a field east of Hookham’s Path, Wollaston. The survey detected numerous magnetic anomalies of various strengths and sizes. Prominent responses relate to areas of geological material. Agricultural activity has been identified as both ridge and furrow and modern ploughing regimes. Significant modern activity resulting in magnetic disturbance, service pipes and ferrous scatters are also present. Some anomalies which may have a possible archaeological origin have been identified within the survey area. Overall the archaeological potential of the site is low.
