Description

A single trench was excavated and the original 19th century brick stable yard surface was identified. Beneath this were deposits which pre-dated the stable yard. It is possible that they were either made ground deposits formed during earlier landscaping, or as they comprised wet and organic material, they may have perhaps formed the infill of an earlier pond
