Description

A fluxgate gradiometer and an aerial photogrammetric survey was undertaken over c36.14ha of land to the north of Old Stratford. Several large areas of magnetic interference in the north and west of the survey area have been caused by mineral extraction, with associated spoil and dumping of waste. In the remaining areas archaeological activity has been recorded as probable and possible ditched enclosures with internal divisions. Ridge and furrow cultivation was also observed. The structural remains of a former water treatement plant were also identified.
