Description

A total of 44 evaluation trenches were excavated within the proposed development area which encompasses c13.3ha of land on the southern edge of Desborough. The evaluation trenching produced limited archaeological remains, with elements of a medieval field system, furrows and a number of mainly post-medieval features comprising ditches, with two much broader features that are possibly a trackway and a palaeochannel. Land drains, recent pipe trenches and large areas of modern disturbance were also identified.
