Description

A programme of archaeological evaluation excavation was carried out to inform decisions on a planning application for the proposed extension of the VPK Factory, Harborough Road, Desborough. An array of features was found comprising possible Prehistoric pits, ditches, wall-trenches, palisade-trenches, ring ditches, a hearth and post holes, and possible Roman parallel bedding trenches (Pastinatio) forming part of a vineyard with associated finds of prehistoric saddle, quern fragments, Hone stones, and pottery, and post-medieval pottery.
