Description

The works confirmed the presence of the northernmost ditch recorded during the evaluation. A pit was also identified and this contained late Iron Age/early Roman pottery and fire-cracked stone. The results of these works and the evaluation suggests the features to be of late Iron Age/early Roman date. These features may be peripheral activity associated with cropmarks to the north of the site, which are believed to indicate a settlement or agricultural activity.
