Abstract/Summary
MOLA Northampton was commissioned by AMJ Construction Limited to undertake a programme of archaeological observation, investigation, recording, analysis and publication work at Old Coopers, Lodge Lane, Long Buckby, Northamptonshire in advance of residential development. The works confirmed the presence of the northernmost ditch recorded during the evaluation. A pit was also identified and this contained late Iron Age/early Roman pottery and fire-cracked stone. The results of these works and the evaluation suggests the features to be of late Iron Age/early Roman date. These features may be peripheral activity associated with cropmarks to the north of the site, which are believed to indicate a settlement or agricultural activity.
