Description

Five trenches were excavated on land to the rear of 14 Grafton Road as part of a planning application for the construction of three houses. Three trenches in the south-western portion of the site showed modern disturbance. An Iron Age ditch and an Anglo-Saxon ditch were found in trench 5 and an undated gully was found in Trench 1. Post-medieval cottages shown on historic OS mapping were identified in Trench 2.
