Description
A programme of Level 2 historic building recording was carried out; the extensions of the cottage were recorded prior to demolition. The demolition of the side extension revealed a possible blocked doorway leading into the storage room immediately from the house. This doorway probably predates the extension. The recording of the exterior and interior ground floor of Avon Cottage itself, revealed a blocked entrance in the east corner of the front elevation, next to the inglenook fireplace in the living room. This suggests that Avon Cottage was divided originally into two cottages. Site code: NSA22
