Description
Within the foundation trench for the extension, a single grave cut was noted, the western end of which was recorded in the foundation trench. Elsewhere within the foundation trench two further pits were recorded which appeared to have been excavated to rebury disarticulated bones from previously disturbed graves. Two further cuts were identified during the excavation of the service trench extension, and whilst their dimensions and orientation were suggestive of graves, no articulated human remains were noted at the depths excavated for the service trench. Elsewhere the archaeological monitoring identified occasional disarticulated remains, which were reburied locally to the point of recovery during the course of the fieldwork.
