Description
Cotswold Archaeology undertook an archaeological evaluation comprising five trial trenches on land at Grendon Lakes, Grendon, in advance of the proposed construction of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The evaluation identified a small number of ditches and a pit, several corresponding with previously recorded cropmarks. Limited dating evidence comprised four pottery sherds of Iron Age to Early Roman date, suggesting some of the features may represent peripheral activity associated with known Iron Age and Roman remains recorded immediately north and north-east of the site
