Description

{1} Four trenches excavated immediately north and west of Furnells revealed several late Saxon and medieval pits which were probably small quarries. Among other features, a long gully and several postholes of the late 6th and 7th centuries suggest that contemporary occupation extended west beyond the limits of the Furnells site. [probably relates to ENN108380, but no plan of site] Data from NRHE record: RCHME microfilm PRN Nos:1486, 1487, 1488, 1489 (not sure which one relates to this site.
