{1} Four areas of the proposed development were fieldwalked after the excavation of the trenches was completed. These areas where targeted to coincide with the crop marks and the areas of proposed topsoil displacement. Area 1 covered three hectares near to the southwest extent of the crop marks and proposed development. Area 2 was made up of a one hectare square located west of the centre of the crop marks. Area 3 was located 50m to the west of this and comprised a quarter hectare block. Area 4 was at the southeastern corner of the field and was three quarters of a hectare in size. A total of 28 pieces of flint were collected and 111 sherds of pottery dating from the Roman to the post-medieval period, but with a preponderance of Roman pottery in all four areas.
