Description

In March 1994, the Cambridge office of the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England carried out an analytical earthwork survey of a section of the well-preserved open field system associated with the deserted Medieval village of Easton Neston, Northamptonshire. The survey was undertaken in advance of development, following a request from Northamptonshire Heritage. The ridge-and-furrow was overlain by a raised, tree-lined avenue associated with Easton Neston House. Ordnance Survey control and the details of the earthworks were all recorded using a Wild TC1610 theodolite with integral EDM and plotted at 1:1000 scale. A report and plans were produced to RCHME Level 3 standard.
