Description

{1} The site excavated in 1983 proved to be devoid of significant archaeological remains. It appeared that the major Roman site to the south of the stream did not extend to the opposite bank although one feature did indicate some dumping activity in the Roman period. A lack of Saxon and medieval pottery indicated that settlement in these periods did not extend south of the church.
