Description
{1} The evaluation showed that the area has been extensively disturbed by grave digging from the Saxo-Norman period onwards. A small quantity of prehistoric, Romano-British and Anglo-Saxon pottery, and Roman-British tile, may be indicative of earlier activity in the area. The quantity of burials encountered, howerver, precluded the possibility of extensive exposure of the natural surface. The limited exposure which was possible showed that several graves were cut through the natural surface.
