Full Description

{1} The Midland Road Gasworks were established in the town in 1857. Houses and streets were lit by gas and many houses had gas cookers. The Thrapston Gas and Coke Company ceased trading in 1950. All structures shown as part of the gas works structures are now gone. The site is owned by Transco and still appears to be in use as a small gasworks.
