Full Description

{1} 19th century Brickworks to the east of High Street. By 1926 the area was called 'Croxen's Yard'. The area is now open land and allotments, although the area appears to have been built up, possibly prior to the brickworks.

{2} East of Main Road and near the town centre.

{3} Between 1866 and 1877 this yard was run by John Croxen (in the former year he also held the 'Dukes Arms' public house) and between 1894 and 1910 by two Barlows. The yard was a small one, and was east of the main road very near the centre of town.
