The core of this site is a much altered shoe factory of circa 1890, fronting Summerlee Road to the north-east. Nos. 2 & 4 Summerlee Road, which adjoin to the south-east, are contemporary. The factory is of two storeys, divided by pilasters into three structural bays of three windows each. The walls are of orange brick, with sills and bands in blue brick, stepped buff brick verges and windows with semicircular arches turned in buff brick. The original entrance is at the south-east end of the front, and there is a blocked taking-in doorway in the fourth bay from this end. The first-floor fenestration has been entirely modernised.
Extensive single-storey sheds have been added to the rear since 1924, extending as far as Milner Road. The Milner Road end of the site is now in separate occupation (see Site 8). More recently a new entrance block on two storeys has been added against the north-east gable of the Summerlee Road factory.
