Full Description
{1} Three Steeples Works (Boot and Shoe), Station Road. The boot and shoe factory to rear of the plot off Station Road has now gone, a high wall surrounds the building, but it appears from map evidence that a number of houses have been erected in that location. The works was originally owned by the Lilley family who also had the house next door, which still remains and is a listed building. The boot and shoe factory was later used by the British Syphon Company, manufactured aircraft components during WWII and later by Procea for dough production and extracting starch.
