{4} (SP 82927708) Tumulus
{5} There is no evidence for a tumulus at the indicated site which is now covered by a bungalow.A map (scale 1/4" to 16' approx) of Part of Broughton 1598 in Cransley Church portrays a mill mound (now destroyed) at approx SP 82997734 - probably the feature referred to by authority {4}.
{6} The association (source {5}) of the mill mound remains with the mound identified as a tumulus in the C19th (source [4}) is probably incorrect. The mound damaged by building (source {5}) lies 250 m SSW at the grid reference given by source {4} (SP 87 NW30).
