Full Description
{1} 3 acres with a mortuary chapel. Opened in 1859. The cemetery appears to still be there and intact complete with two chapels and cemetery lodge.
{2} A Level 2 building recording survey was carried out in 2014 prior to the chapel's conversion to residential use. The chapel comprises a former combined non-conformist and Anglican mortuary chapel set in a planned cemtery. Designed by the architect Edward Browning, it was constructed in Gothic Revival style and opened in 1859. the chapel is well-preserved externally, apart from the loss of the windows and south door, though the north door survives to demonstrate the original form. Internally, there are red and black quarry floor tiles throughout, plain plastered wall surfaces, ashlar stone dressings to all apertures and identical roof construction throughout. The original altar rail and bell survived in the CofE chapel.
