Full Description

{5} Up to the present works the war memorial was surrounded by an area of turf. Following removal of the turf, up to 0.15m of material was excavated to allow for the laying of the new paving. The stratigraphy comprised grey-black grave soil for the full depth of the excavation. Within this were recorded three articulated burials which had been partially truncated during the previous paving works.
