Full Description

{1} Railway bridge. C.1837. Red brick faced with grey lias. Single-arched bridge spanning main road to Northampton. Round-headed arch with imposts and keyblock, flanked by massive pilaster buttresses with buffer. Moulded stone cornice and plain stone-coped parapet. An important bridge on Robert Stephenson's pioneering London-Birmingham railway line, figuring in several contemporary illustrations.

{3} Post medieval railway bridge over A43 north of Blisworth.

{4} Fine semi-circular arch bridge dressed in stone, c10m high at the crown. Built to carry the London to Birmingham Railway over the Blisworth to Milton Malsor road. Opened in 1838, the bridge still carries West Coast mainline trains.

{6} Remains almost unaltered since 1838. List of additional sources.

{7} Constructed by Richard Dunkley of Blisworth. On the embankment to the south west the first Blisworth station was sited. North east of the bridge is a terrace of 12 early railway cottages.
