Full Description
{1} Documentary evidence for the medieval manor house at Hulcote. The manor house stood in Hall Close.
{2} Fieldname: Hall Close.
{3} Manor House site (SP 702 501) lies in a field called Hall Close in 1849. Earthworks consist of ditched rectangular enclosure with a raised platform 1.7 m. high in the SW corner, which may be the site of the house itself. Other earthworks include two rectangular fishponds and other features, possibley later quarry pits. A small quantity of medieval and post medieval pottery has come from the site.
{5} (SP 7043 5005) Manor Farm on site of MANOR HOUSE (LB)
{6} The present Manor Farm is 18/19c and there are no indications of former buildings.
