{5} The interior of the building has been substantially altered over time, the current arrangement involves a centrally placed wood panelled bar with seating area surrounding and kitchens and beer storage rooms to the rear. The first floor has been divided into a number of guest bedrooms. It is likely that there were close links between the public house and the river close by (there is a small wharf area cut into land owned by the hotel); Whellan's Trade Drectory of 1849 indicates that the victueller was also a wheelwright and timber and coal merchant, no doubt fully utilising the wharf facilities at the Queen's Head.
