Full Description

{1} Stable, now garage and outbuilding. Late C18 altered early C20. Squared coursed limestone and yellow brick with Collyweston slate and pantile roofs. Rectangular plan. Single-storey stables with hayloft over; outbuilding to left is of single storey. 3 bays with double doors to right and early C20 plank door to left, both under wood lintels. Canted vertically glazed casement windows under wood lintel, first floor window above is blocked. Central brick stack. Outbuilding to left altered early C20. Interior not inspected. Included for group value.

{3} A level 2 historic building recording was undertaken as part of a programme of redevelopment. The former stables have more recently been used as a garage space, store rooms and for housing pump equipment for a swimming pool which has been built to the south of the range. They are currently divided into six ground-floor rooms with two first floor rooms at the western end. Most of the rooms still retain some evidence of being used as stables, although at the time of the survey the central and eastern ranges had recently been stripped in preparation for the redevelopment work.
