Building record 2315/0/7 - The Round House

{1} House, formerly toll-house. Reset datestone 1660, probably late C18. Squared coursed limestone with C20 plain tile roof. Circular plan. 2 storeys. Entrance front of 2-window range of casements with glazing bars under stop-chamfered wood lintels. Central C20 door and porch. Conical roof with flat top and lateral brick stack. Weathervane finial. Interior has some reset C17 and C18 panelling, said to come from Barnwell Manor House. Used for a time as a public house.

{3} NRO holds a sale catalogue of 1889 for the Sudborough Brewery which held 7 public houses, including the Round House at Sudborough.
