{6} Description of the font.
{7} Undated photo, also photo of font dated October 1978.
{10} (SP 630718). 19th century brick arched vaults, a post-medieval burial and a medieval burial cut by footing for a medieval aisle were features recorded during reflooring in 1979. Evidence suggests the lowering of the floor during the medieval period.
{11} [Former list description] Stone with lead roofs.
The church consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, south porch and west tower was probably originally Early English, now mainly Decorated with Perpendicular additions, restored 1887-94. The W. tower has 3 stages and battlemented parapet. The clerestory of the nave has a plain parapet with heavy moulded string at foot and weathered coping and deeply recessed flat arched windows, three-light with cusped hands, and hood mould.
The S. aisle externally is mixed limestone and ironstone forming an irregular chequer pattern, and has a plain parapet with coping. To west of S. porch is an ogee headed window, single light, with hoodmould and carved heads forming corbels and finial, the west window of this aisle is similar. To east of porch is a decorated window with geometrical tracery and the east window, also Decorated, has curvilinear tracery. The S. porch is dated 1682 and has an arched entrance under flat pitched gable square sundial finial with slate faces. The N. aisle has ogee headed windows similar to those at west end of S. aisle. The chancel has a small lancet window in S. wall, the remaining windows are Perpendicular. The nave arcades have 4 bays, some piers in N. arcade are Early English, the remainder Decorated. The chancel arch is Decorated. The Perpendicular timber roofs are restored but some old timber remains. All plaster has been removed at the restoration and the stonework is clumsily pointed. In the chancel is a Perpendicular piscina and in the S. aisle one Perpendicular and one Decorated piscina. The square bowl of the font is probably Transitional or Early English with heads at angles and bands of carved figures between. The base is C.19. Some early C.19 wall tablets remain.
