Full Description

{1} House. Late C17. Coursed squared ironstone, plain tile roof, brick end and ridge stacks. 2-unit lobby entry plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. C20 door and porch to left of centre with 2-light casement, replacing mullion, to left with stone surround, (broken away to right side) and hood mould, a 3-light casement, replacing mullion, to right with moulded stone jambs, stop-chamfered lintel and hood mould. First floor has small central blocked window, a one-light casement over door and 2-light casements to left and right, all with timber lintels, except for that to right which has stone lintel of former small 2-light stone mullioned window. 2-storey outshut to rear. Quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. C20 single-storey extensions to left and right. Interior has open fireplace with cambered chamfered bressumer, stop-chamfered spine beams and stone-flagged floor.

{3} Incorporates a double sided datestone taken from a barn off Brington Road when it was demolished in 1985. One side of the stone was illegible, but the other reads 1693, which is odd because it would suggest that the barn predated the date of enclosure.
