Building record 638/0/155 - Daventry District Council Offices, Church Walk

Rectory, now council offices. Early to mid 19th century in stucco with hipped Welsh slate roof.

{1} Rectory, now council offices. Early to mid C19. Stucco. Hipped Welsh slate roof. Rendered brick internal stacks. Double-depth plan. 2 and 3 storeys. 3-window range. Steps up to central entrance with Doric porch. Panelled door. Entrance is flanked by sashes with glazing bars. Left has sashes to first and attic floors. Right part has 2 sashes to first floor. Round arched window on left end. Interior not inspected.

{3} In 1802 the dean and chapter were said to be seised of the rectory and vicarage impropriate of the parish. Until 1788 the curate had no house but in that year the dean and chapter assigned a cottage with a garden and close for his use. After enclosure the house was moved to the south side of the churchyard.
