Full Description

{1} Memorial cross. 1908. Limestone ashlar. Central pillar with drinking fountains. 3 stages. Lowest with 4 pointed arches, upper with 4 and 8 dummy arches, 4 traceried and 8 flying buttresses with small crocketed pinnacles. Central pillar ends in large crocketed pinnacle. Stepped base. Pair of inscribed bronze tablets.

{2} 1908. Ashlar in gothic style.

{5}Three post medieval 'dumping layers' near the cross. The layers dipped downwards away from the cross. Large amounts of 18th/19th century brick and tile were recovered from the bottom two layers.These may have formed a platform for the memorial cross.
