Full Description

{1} House, now 2 shops. One build. Late C18 with C20 alterations. Low pitched Welsh-slate roof behind stucco blocking course and cornice. 2 entrances have C20 doors. C20 shop fronts. First floor has 2 tripartite sash windows with glazing bars and brick flat arches. 2 similar smaller windows. Interior not inspected. Included for group value.

{3} Watching brief during removal of backfilling in cellar. The backfilling material was modern and nothing of archaeological significance was observed within it. Some elements of the historic fabric of the cellar were exposed however. A number of partitions within the original cellar were seen, which indicate that the cellar was the same size as the current building. It also appears that the partitions were left in place when the cellar was infilled. The work also indicated that there is no cellar to the west of the building; the undisturbed clay substratum suggests no significant disturbance occurred until the modern extension was built, although this cannot be certain.

{4} Late C18. Red brick, low pitched Welsh slated roof behind stucco blocking course and cornice. 3 storeys, 2 flush sash windows triple light with glazing bars under cutter flat arches. Modern shop windows. Included for group value.
