Summary
Block of three boot and shoe workshops, constructed circa 1880 of brick with a slate roof, and located approximately 8 metres south of Nos. 30 - 34 London Road. Each is of two storeys lit by four-light casements to the first floor and two-light casements to the ground floor. Originally for use by outworkers in the shoe industry, these workshops were recorded as outbuildings by 1986. Listed Grade II, forming a group with similar workshops at SP 96 SW 96 and SP 96 SW 98.

Full Description
{1} Three outworkers shops, now outbuildings. Late C19. Brick with slate roof. Each of one-unit plan. 2 storeys. 3-window range of 4-light casements at first floor and 2-light casements at ground floor under wood lintels. 3 plank doors under wood lintels. Brick stacks at ends. Interiors not inspected. Originally used by boot and shoe outworkers. Included for group value.

{5} The building file records three two-storey boot and shoe workshops, constructed circa 1880. Two blocks contain three workshops, and one contains two. Each has an entrance, ground floor window and large first floor window. Those on the gable ends are heated.
{6} NB: The listings for the three buildings combined appear to indicate that there are two blocks of two-unit workshops and one block with three workshops.
