Full Description

{1} A group of 19th/20th century features were observed cutting through the natural strata. These were distributed along the southern side of the area interpreted as lower parts of modern structures. A rectangular structure placed towards the SE corner of the site, consisting of courses of brick forming an irregular rectangle. A feature of crushed bricks was present on the west side of the structure and may have been the base of a buttress.
A second brick built feature in the western half of the site consisted of ten bricks laid side by side in two rows, possibly the base of a modern wall.
A sub-rectangular cut 400mm wide was interpreted as a posthole, there was no dating evidence. Feature may be Medieval or later 19th century date.
