Full Description
{1} Leland refers to a 'Cutlers Mill' which had been driven by the Goldwell Stream. This may explain the presence in Goldwell Close in 1760 and 1830 of a rectangular pond with small 'island' at its outlet. No reference to this has been found in the medieval sources while no building is depicted there on the 1760 map and so it may prove to have been a short lived 16th century mill.
