Full Description
{1}An agreement of 1254 between Robert fitz Walter II and the prior allowed Robert to enclose land in the area between Badby Way and the South Brook and to erect burgages thereon. This agreement implies that Robert intended to expand the town southwards from what is now Oxford Street (the former Badby Way) along London Road. There is no evidence to show that these burgages were ever built.
