Full Description

{1} Four of the features recorded were of 19th century date and appeared to be planting holes within the garden area. All were filled with a dark brown loam, the fills contained pieces of 19th century china, glass, slate, charcoal and coal.
The fifth feature uncovered during excavation was only partly exposed as a semi-circle. It had steep sides to a flat base. The pit was filled with a light brown sandy loam, with few inclusions. It is possible that the feature may have been associated with regular planting of trees in this area during the 16th century.
