Full Description

{1} Cropmark identified by J. Williams. Rectilinear enclosure. D-shaped enclosure of c.0.5ha. Orientated east-west. A well-marked entrance lies on its east side. RCHME give ngr of SP838629.

{4} A rectangular enclosure measuring 60m by 80m, within which three curving linear features probably represent eaves-drainage gullies for roundhouses.

{5} The roundhouse gullies have east facing entracnes and other anomalies within the enclosure are likely to represent buried ditches. The enclosure is likely of Iron Age date.

{1} The arc of a round house was found within the enclosure. This structure had clear evidence of at least two phases and was found to contain six post holes of no clear pattern, some with evidence for packing around the posts and an off-centre larger sized feature containing burnt stones. These features may be internal structural post settings and an internal hearth.
