Full Description

{2} Ditched trackway and enclosures (TL 037777) SE of the village and immediately E of Wood Lodge, on Boulder Clay at 70 m. above OD. Air photographs (in NMR) show very indistinctly a slightly curved
ditched trackway, running E-W and traceable for 150 m. Parts of possible enclosures lie on either side of it.

{3,5} A long ditched boundary appears to define the eastern extents of an extensive area of Iron Age and Roman enclosures and this may link the area to other extensive features to the south [8856/1]. A double ditched boundary or trackway (mentioned by source 2) extends to the north and east of the enclosures but it is not clear if they are associated with each other. There are more features to the north of this which may also be related [1875].

{6} (TL 038778 - TL 040782). Two parallel ditches on AP in 1979.

{7} Geophysical survey identified the ditches of the road extending north-east to south-west across much of the surveyed field. It’s relationship with other enclosures identified by the survey is not clear.
