Full Description

{3} A number of pits were identified at the south end of trench B- possibly relate to the pit alignment.

{4} 24 closely spaced pits (some intercutting) were found running east/west across the southern part of the excavated area. They were traced for 100m but continued either side of the trench. Several were obscured by a series of ditches and gullies which partly overlay the alignment.
The pits were generally about 2m in diameter, circular, oval or sub-rectangular in plan and up to 2m apart. They became more widely spaced to the east and also more shallow.

{4} Colour prints of the pit alignment;
