Full Description

{2} On either side of the hollow way (34/0/8) are earthworks, very disturbed, but with some indications that there was formerly a series of closes bounded by low scarps. A number of large depressions may represent former buildings.

{3} All the earthworks were already abandoned by the mid 19th century.

{4} To the south of the hollow way are less easily interpreted earthworks which may prove to be quarries rather than occupation remains.

{5} Two flat terraces, 5m wide, separated by steep scarps. Trial excavation located a ditch orientated north-south and measuring c.3m wide by 0.82m deep, which coincides with a linear trend seen during the geophysics survey.
