Full Description

{2} The original main street appears to have been approximately on the line of the present road which runs north west past Canons Ashby House. Traces of a hollow way still remain on the east side of this road, and then west of the road, running north west across the park towards the mound. Traces of a shallow ditch surround the mound except on the east. To the north and south of the mound are broad hollow ways leading into the former village. Fig.34.
