Full Description
{1}An evaluation of low profile features in the part of Coneygarth excluding the mounds and ponds. This suggests there was a complete trapezoidal enclosure here. The report, with sketchplan, attempts to make some sense of the surface undulations, and there is also some documentary research distinguishing the Coneygart from the rabbit warren.
{3} Cropmark of a circular ditch appended to a linear ditch. Other distinct linear marks also visible. The former was seen by Kerr as an earthwork. Aerial photo: NCCAP:SP9668/007
{4} Earthwork of a deep annular depression centrally placed on the west side of the park. 60ft in diameter with a linear east-west depression joining the circle. Identified by Kerr as the circular keep and defences of a medieval castle.
